About the venue
York Conferences is a subsidiary company for the University of York and boasts a stunning green campus, where your delegates can meet and relax.
With over 200 meeting rooms, York Conferences offer a wide range of meeting, conference & exhibition areas with capacities from 1 to 1,190 delegates. Our landmark building is Central Hall with a capacity of 1,190. Situated close to the lake, Central Hall provides an ideal location for large AGM’s or as the main plenary for conferences. Within a short undercover walking distance of Central Hall is the Exhibition Centre, 900m² of flat floor exhibition space. In addition to this, it has several breakout rooms available including 3 tiered lecture theatres and 4 flat floor rooms. The Ron Cooke Hub is York’s state of the art new build and with huge amounts of natural daylight, has raised the level of conference facilities. Sitting atop of Europe’s largest plastic bottom lake and just outside the Hub, the Pods are ideal for small 1:1’s or small meetings upto 18. At the heart of the Hub is the main open aired Atrium, offering vast amounts of space ideal for an exhibition or networking event. The Hub’s 360° demonstration space offers a platform for product launches and is ideal for budding entrepreneurs. Situated in the city centre is the King’s Manor House. This 16th century, grade 1 listed building is steeped in history and offers a unique setting for any conference. The panelled Huntingdon Room provides a stunning backdrop for meetings up to 90 delegates or can comfortably accommodate smaller groups for board meetings. The adjoining Ante Room provides the ideal space for registration, networking and refreshments from our award winning caterers. York Conferences is pleased to offer year round bed and breakfast accommodation based at our Franklin College. During vacation time our allocation of bedrooms increases to over 1,200 allowing delegates attending a conference to stay on site and enjoy the facilities on offer. To give you the best deal and offer transparent rates, York Conferences includes the following in our standard rates: (1) Use of main plenary room (2) Full range of AV equipment (3) Technical briefing by one of our specially trained AV staff (4) 2-servings of tea/coffee and biscuits (5) 2-course hot/cold buffet lunch (6) Free Wi-Fi (7) Dedicated conference coordinator. Since 2000 the University of York has invested over £750 million in its campus facilities. Projects completed include York's largest sporting facility the York Sport Village, the University library has been revamped and a new cafe has been built for delegates and students to enjoy. In addition to this the Universities science departments have also seen investment and we are pleased to announce that in 2010 the stunning state of the art Ron Cooke Hub was completed and opened for business. Ideal for 1:2:1's or meetings requiring space up to 220, the Ron Cooke Hub will enhance any conference and with its dedicated onsite coordinator will make your event run as smoothly as possible.
