About the venue

Melmerby Hall is set within 25 acres of our private woodland & is walking distance to the village of Melmerby which has great facilities.

Melmerby Hall is 5* rated by Visit England and has also won a Gold Award for outstanding quality in all areas, particularly with respect to guest service. The Hall itself has nine double bedrooms all of which are ensuite except for one which has access to a private ensuite shower room up the hall. It has six principal reception rooms (The oak panelled Library, The Georgian Drawing Room, Dining Room, The Billiards Room, Breakfasting Conservatory/Kitchen and family Living Room), three wood burning fires, a well equipped kitchen with a four oven Aga, gas hob, and electric oven, two Bosch dishwashers, two refrigerators, a washing machine, tumble dryer and a sandstone larder. We have welcomed a number of corporate groups to Melmerby Hall and its cottages. The adjoining and interlinking Stag Cottage which accommodates up to 6 guests in three double ensuite bedrooms and Kirkbride Hall which accommodates up to 8 guests are available for guest accommodation and entertainment. Altogether these three properties accommodate up to 32 guests based on double occupancy of the bedrooms. In terms of guests "sleeping singly" by which we mean guests sharing a bedroom if it has twin beds but not sharing if there is not an option for the guests to sleep in separate beds, we can accommodate 12 guests at Melmerby Hall, 5 at Stag Cottage and 6 at Kirkbride Hall. We also have several catering options from providers we know well. I can recommend all of them wholeheartedly and they would be happy to work with you on menus etc. Unlike some of the bigger hotels and venues, we do not build in any sort of mark up on catering or wine corkage. We endeavour to be flexible on arrangements and would be happy to help with planning for your break and have a dedicated member of our team who works with our corporate and wedding guests. The formal Dining Room at Melmerby Hall has seating for up to 24 guests and we would be happy to help with an additional table and chairs to allow all members of your party to dine together. We would also be happy to provide easels to hold whiteboards or large pads of paper and a printer for you to use during your break. We also offer a corporate entertainment package at Melmerby Hall via our cousin's Cumbrian Adventures activity provider and would be happy to help out with options for your consideration including clay pigeon shooting, giant zorb ball games, a Cumbrian Olympic sports session and archery.
