Home to the Hervey Family for over 200 years, the house and estate we see today were created by the Earl Bishop of Bristol in the late 18th Century.
Gifted by the family to the National Trust in 1956 the East wing is now a spectacular hotel. The Ickworth Hotel is set within 1800 acres of National Trust Parkland, adjoining the rotunda which remains today as a gallery of the former Marquess' life, operated by the National Trust. The nearest town is Bury St. Edmunds, located only 3 miles away. The East wing of the original house sees the re-birth into a stylish yet comfortable hotel. All 27 bedrooms (and 11 additional apartments in the Dower House) offer luxury, style and comfort. The food is classic English using fresh local produce. The Ickworth Hotel offers a unique environment, a tranquil place to relax, yet a perfect place to offer top quality meetings and conferences. The Ickworth Hotel offers two principal meeting rooms. The Boardroom offers plenty of natural light and can seat up to 20 boardroom style and up to 35 theatre style. Adjoining is The Study a smaller room, ideal for use as a breakout room. It can seat up to 7 people - boardroom style. . The Chinese Dining Room is a private dining room for up to 8 people. Ludwigs in the Dower House away from the main house, can seat up to 16 boardroom style, and 30 people theatre style - with it's additional 11 apartments, this is an ideal venue for confidential meetings.
