The Bear at Hodnet is a 16th century coaching inn offering a wide range of facilities for private and corporate guests.

The building has the enticing character of a bygone age whilst providing the comforts and amenities of the 21st century. To make your visit even more special there is a friendly ghost called Jasper and a former Bear Pit with secret passages leading to the village church and Hodnet Hall. There is a traditional bar with log fires, a restaurant, 8 letting bedrooms and two function rooms suitable for weddings, conferences, meetings and entertainment as well as the well-known Medieval Banquets for which The Bear is famous. There are two meeting rooms. Our main room can accommodate up to 90 people with a stage at one end and bar at the other. All normal conference facilities are available for your use and the room can be arranged to suit your needs. We also have a smaller room that can accommodate up to 12 people and is ideal for that local meeting. Full catering can be provided, if required, or just afternoon tea or morning coffee.
