About the venue
Mary Ward House is a fascinating Grade 1 listed building built in 1898 and financed by the wealthy philanthropist Passmore Edwards.
Mary Ward, the novelist and social reformer, was the inspiration behind the endeavour to provide a centre of training, care and entertainment for the less fortunate in society. Each finely proportioned room has its own unique character and ambience, from the distinctive library to the extensive Mary Ward Hall. There is also a large outdoor courtyard and garden which provides a tranquil haven in Central London. We can cater for any number of events:- Conferences, Press Launches, Wedding Receptions, Lectures, Art Exhibitions, Boardroom Meetings, Training Workshops and TV & Filming. Recent clients include:- Marks & Spencer, Royal Mail, Microsoft, EMAP, London Art & Design Show, John Lewis, Tesco and Express Newspapers. The Dickens library at Mary Ward Houe was recently transformed to look like a clasroom at Yale and used for filming of The Good Shepherd featuring Angelina Jolie and Robert De Niro.
