Lincoln College was founded in 1427 by Richard Fleming, Bishop of Lincoln.
Founded originally as a seat of learning to counteract heretical beliefs in the established church, it has developed into a centre for the study of both science and humanities subjects as one of the Colleges which comprise Oxford University. Lincoln has a reputation as a friendly and sociable College. In addition, it is one of the most attractive of Oxford’s medieval Colleges. With its two principal quadrangles, its glorious Chapel, its 15th century dining hall and its recently refurbished medieval kitchen, Lincoln College gives visitors a unique taste of life in an Oxford College. The College Library, formerly All Saints’ Church, is one of the finest in Oxford. We at Lincoln like to think that these beautiful and stimulating surroundings provide an ideal environment for both work and pleasure, for students reading for degrees and for delegates to business, professional and academic conferences
