About the venue
Kits Coty House, beside Bluebell Hill on the Chatham-Maidstone road, is believed to be older than Stonehenge, which was erected between 1800 and 2000 B.
C. It is thought that Kits Coty House was a place of worship and later part of a burial mound. A local tradition claims that a shepherd named Kit used to take shelter under the stones in bad weather, hence the origin of the unusual name. However, it is more likely that the name is a corruption of Catigern's House. The Spectre Room caters for 20 – 45 all year round and throughout June to Mid September the use of our marquee adjoining the Spectre Room enables us to cater for larger groups of up to a maximum of 80.
