The King's Manor is one of historic York's most attractive and unusual sites and is enjoying a renaissance which is both physical and intellectual.
As home to University of York staff and students, it's buildings and grounds epitomise the sensitive and appropriate use of historic structures. This group of largely Grade I medieval buildings is a vivid evocation of the past. Originally the Abbot's House of St Mary's Abbey, the King's Manor served the Tudors and Stuarts as a seat of government, becoming residences in the 18th century and a school in the 19th. The history of the King's Manor weaves a continuous thread in the history of York since medieval times. The Huntingdon Room The medieval Huntingdon Room offers conference facilities for up to 100 delegates. With it's panelled walls and imposing fireplaces, it is the perfect venue for those making big business decisions. It is also a popular room for receptions and parties. We can provide a cold buffet for up to 100 people, or a formal sit-down dinner for up to 25. The Ante Room If booking the Huntingdon Room you automatically receive the Ante Room (at no extra cost!) This room offers an excellent break out space for a workshop activity, refreshment break, or a working buffet lunch.
