Few could resist the rustic charm of the Bay Tree, an enchanting Cotswold retreat in the picture-postcard town of Burford.
The limestone building dates back to the 16th century and is steeped in history and character, from the foundations of its mellow stone walls - clad with pinkish-purple wisteria blooms - to its wooden beam rafters. Built as Elizabeth I's Chancellor's Country House, The Bay Tree Hotel is still being used for business today. The Conservatory opens onto walled gardens and is an inspired conference venue for up to 40 delegates. The Hawthorne room with it's original open fireplace and ancient oak table is an excellent room for boardroom meetings.
