The headquarters of the Royal Statistical Society are located near the Barbican Centre, at 12 Errol Street, London, EC1Y 8LX.
These headquarters provide a venue for major debates on subjects central to the life of the nation. Here meetings, lectures and debates take place on issues of public policy such as education, HIV and AIDS, census methodology the health service, league tables, and unemployment. In short the Society's public rooms are a forum for absorbing, disseminating and debating statistics and their significance. Following conversion of what was once a Victorian school, the building now provides a light, airy working environment for RSS staff, and facilities for the meetings of the Society. Its four public rooms offer professional gravitas blended with contemporary design and are available for hire by outside bodies/societies at competitive rates. The rooms are very adaptable: they can be hired individually for meetings of small groups; alternatively, hired together, they would be ideal for a small conference which could meet as a whole in the Lecture Theatre, then break up into smaller groups using the other rooms. A wide range of catering is also available
